A favorite of van Straaten, Renée was invited to appear in Hollywood for his stage production of: What’s My Line? Her cameo appearance in Disney's Father of the Bride, arose after working for a full year with the wardrobe department styling the film and designing the wedding gown, bridesmaids and flowergirl dresses for the film.
